The symposium to launch Home is a Holy Place in October 2006 identified a need to continue conversation around a number of marital and family spirituality issues arising from the presentations.  These conversations will take a number of forms but it is hoped to record and report on them here. 

 

March 27th 2007. Family Spirituality – an experiential workshop with Michael Quinn. Loreto Convent and Retreat Centre. Llandudno.

Michael Quinn is the Founder and Executive of The Family Caring Trust, a Charity founded in 1986 to support and empower parents by providing practical, skill-based resources to improve family relationships.  For over a decade, these resources have been the most popular parenting materials in Britain and Ireland - over half a million parents have experienced at least one of the courses. This workshop was a Home is a Holy Place training and awareness event offered by the Diocese of Wrexham.  

April 28th 2007. The Heart of Parenting - The Heart of God. A Continuing Home is a Holy Place Conversation with Fr Daniel O'Leary. Hemsworth.

Fr Daniel O’Leary is a priest of the Leeds Diocese.  He is a former Chair of Religious Studies at St Mary’s University College in Twickenham and Episcopal Vicar for Christian Formation in the Leeds Diocese.  He has written several books including Prism of Love and Passion for the Possible and contributes regularly to The Tablet.

May 25th-28th 2007. Holey, Wholly, Holy Family: A Catholic People's Weekend on family spirituality.

Chair: Joy Wanless. Venue: House of the Open Door, Childswickham, near Broadway. "We will explore the scriptures of the weekend, theories of families, our reality and the church's ideas to help us grow to be the family God wants us to be."
